Need some more heavy rains, for the purpose of the investment house renov so I can see if there are any repairs to roof, fountain walls etc to stop leaks.
Need to bribe & charm soon the neighbors. Get on their good side before any work starts.
"A surge in New York City murders — including four people slain in just five bloody hours as the weekend began — has grieving family members begging Mayor de Blasio to bring back the NYPD’s right to search for guns.
“We need stop-and-frisk,†Stacey Calhoun, the devastated uncle of one of the four fatalities, said Saturday afternoon, tears filling his eyes over the nephew he had just lost."
Part, Panda will finally settle debt and bring dumplings this weekend - assuming you be at the store. Want me to also bring some frozen ones (assuming you have freezer at store) that you can fried or boil yourself?
If Randi was here, I be asking him some renov decisions - eg central air or split units. I am putting in split units - a more expensive approach as I could've made tenant buy window units but I don't want them drilling holes into the new windows.
I was partly away when the mass blogicides were going on, but I can't figure out what all the brouhaha is about.
Speaking of delicate flowers: mega-kudos to Condoleeza Rice and her commencement speech at William and Mary. It was a perfect retort to Michelle Obama's recent rants. She struck a perfect balance. She noted that this country was born with a "birth defect" of not applying its ideals to all. She noted that even in her youth, she saw this injustice in her home city first-hand. At the same time, she lauded its ideals and the progress made in applying them to all. Paraphrasing her, she warned against being on a perpetual hunt for grievances, which, she said leads to its close cousin: a sense of entitlement.
I would love to see Condoleeza Rice run for president.
I've mentioned this before: my sister has cut just about every famous person's hair out there, between her stints at SNL and the Today show. She always says that the classiest yet friendliest person she ever met was Condi.
Part, you covered me for flowers (believe for RF's dad's passing). I might only be doing a quick drive by to drop off the food - if my appointment time with contractor is too tight
The supposed FAVs last time all turned out to the big disappointments - especially #1 dude from Texas. It was embarrassing for him. Hope he fares better this time
Cute. Yes, I'm sure that you followed Carly Fiorina's career quite closely, and had that information (that you posted here right after her announcement) on your fingertips.
The transitive verb to google (also spelled Google) means using the Google search engine to obtain information on something or somebody on the World Wide Web. However, in many dictionaries (and in common parlance) the verb refers to using any web search engine, such as Yahoo!, Bing or any other sort of search.
I purchased a Windows 8 desktop about a year ago. I ditched it after about 9 months. I found Windows 8 to be unstable and I couldn't take it. The machine crashed twice and required extensive recovery work. I went back to my Windows 7 laptop and have had no issues since.
My laptop is on its last legs. Replacement machines are so different from what I bought before that it's hard to decide what to buy. The propaganda on Windows 10 is that it will be better from the starting gate than Windows 8 which was a disaster. But I don't think I can wait long enough for the first stage of whopper defects.
Gardening Experiment: Over the winter I read that if you take a clear plastic milk jug, cut it in half, fill it half way with potting mix, put seeds in it, tape the two holds back, water and put it outside for the winter, in the spring you will have nice sized seedlings ready for transplant. I checked on mine 3 weeks ago and nothing. Forgot about it. Looked in on the experiment yesterday and was totally amazed!
I've been watching Transparent, which is an Amazon Prime original series about what happens to a family when the 70-year-old college professor dad becomes a woman. The dad is played by Jeffrey Tambor who is excellent. The family is dysfunctional of course and very funny.
Don't know how one goes from being involved in a fatal car crash in February to posing in a corset for Vanity Fair cover a couple months later. He just let it go mentally or it had no effect on him in the first place?
I thought I heard that in the interview, he said he wasn't attracted to men and not gay. Did the hormones change that??? So what will he do for sex????
So did he complete the ENTIRE process of transgenderification????? I'm sorry, I really haven't been following it. It's all too honky tonk reality TV show for me.
Have you ever been there??? I'm not sure how difficult it is to find parking and I'm not sure there are a lot of garages or lots to rent a spot in either.
Pay no attention to the finishes of the houses I post. I look at the property and the structure. Beyond that, I assume I'll fix if the price allows for that.
Link not working. FYI, Chick, after being told that my Zillow links don't work when I post them, I have come to habitually now, 1.copy and paste address in new tab 2.open the zillow listing shown in the google search 3.copy and paste that house link onto the OT.
No, I haven't been there, but I've seen it on the interwebs! I know you have never been there either. The street views always look empty. Maybe they don't allow parking on the streets at all.
Political dynasties get elected into office by the people. they aren't appointed by the patriarch. Nepotism is probably more prevelant throughout the lower echelons of government where relatives can be hired.
We used to get our Christmas tree in Chestnut Hill for a few years in a row. haven't been there in many years but i suspect it has a lot more great restaurants and is also a lot more crowded. That said, prices are still cheap.
If you don't think the elections are "free" maybe you should just stay out of political discussions. Or just discuss politics with the other loons and conspiracy theorists on gothamist.
Tell me, how was the Presidency "passed" from Bush to Bush????????????
It's an asinine comment made from his position of weakness. And of course it is wildly appealing to wackjob left wingers whose grasp of reality is tenuous at best.
I don't thibnk I ever played musical chairs. It seems like a stupid game. I suspect it can not be played nowadays since some kids will be considered "losers," and no trophies will be given out.
I have to agree with DIBS about the Bush/Clinton thing. I find it utterly depressing that these two names are in contention again for the Presidency. I lay fault with the people for this situation, however. If you only want to pay minimal attention to politics and turn it into another spectator sport, you get what you get.
I don't think Clinton's can be called a dynasty. Does not cross generation and they are not blood relatives. Bush family has been in politics for several generations. I don't think that is a negative.
Haven't looked into Windows 10. Based on current trends, I expect it to ape iOS even more, will expand the "software as a service" model, a la Apple's "walled garden" paradigm. It will be even harder to operate with a keyboard and mouse than 8.1 is, will drive the sales of touchscreens through the roof, will be even more of an unstable house of cards to maintain.
Consumers will love it, MS stock price soar, dibs will make money.
"I don't think Clinton's can be called a dynasty. Does not cross generation and they are not blood relatives. Bush family has been in politics for several generations. I don't think that is a negative."
If Hillary or Jeb wins, that means that from 1988 to 2020, the President's last name was either Bush or Clinton for 24 years of that 32 year span. I do not think that is a healthy thing for a democracy. You point does not address that issue.
Serena Williams French Open matches falling into a pattern: she sleeps through the first set, gets her ass kicked, sleeps through first half of second set. Somewhere around 3-5 or 2-4, she realizes she's about to lose the match, wakes up, starts screaming after every point, and starts kicking ass, winning the 2nd and 3rd sets, and thus the match.
Nah, I just don't think she gets excited until she's behind, and she doesn't really play well unless she's excited. Most players don't give her any challenge at all, so she's a bit bored by default. It isn't until she starts playing the better opponents that she realizes they have the skill to beat her unless she gets emotionally involved, resulting in lethargic play on her part early in the matches.
Women's tennis has been a giant snooze for many years - really since she began to dominate. I would not find it shocking if the Tennis Organizations tried to revive it even if with some 'creative' methods.
The Belgium girls could handle Serena but injuries and babies came along. One of Serena's greatest quote was when Justine "manhandled" her all over the court. Justine like martina hingis are "slight" in build and their craftiness can only do so much in the power game.
Had to deal with a French girl at dinner last week. Been living here 5 years and she did nothing but bad mouth americans. Since I was a guest at someone else's home I kept quiet.

Had a great weekend, but did not get enough rest.
Cold and rainy here too.
Kudos to him and Dudley for the conviction.
No freezer but do have a small fridge.

Cute. Yes, I'm sure that you followed Carly Fiorina's career quite closely, and had that information (that you posted here right after her announcement) on your fingertips.
No but you do post about wacko Christians in Texas. Were you just on their mailing list?????
I guess it's ok when Six or DH rebut your cherrypicking posts about Muslim extremism. It's different for boys.
Capisci??????.
Cherrypicking? One has to cherrypick the news to find examples of such nowadays? You don't say!
I personally be interested in upgrading to it on home computer
I have a laptop on Windows 8 I may upgrade, but no rush.
My older Windows 7 and Vista desktops can stay where they are.
8.1 has been pretty good, although somewhat annoying at times.

And I doubt it, Benson. Kim is pregnant with her and Kanye's second child, in case you hadn't heard.
Sorry Bruce, but I'm going with "Media Whore". Fits you new gender, too.
Funny Benson has never referred to Palin as such
Are you talking about Lindsay Graham, "Caitlyn" or Sarah Palin?
Even worse than that: a "sex tape" will be discovered, ala Kim.

I'm just here to call out hypocrisy wherever I see it. That it happens mostly with you is beyond my control
This one could use some fixing too. Fantastic location. Low ask.

I can't see you in a house with a soul-less kitchen. Then again, at the price-you could renovate. A house on my cousin's block in contract.

The latter was not O'Malley's point.
Capisci????
also - my initial post said ALL levels of gov't so my initial point still stands - as your caveat agrees with this
but you said capisci so i guess i'm just too stupid to get this.
I was simp[ly commenting about O'Malley's ridiculous remark. Try to stay on point. You're getting as bad as MM and rf.
Tell me, how was the Presidency "passed" from Bush to Bush????????????

It is not the West Philly I remember from College.
My reunion was wonderful. Hogworts wishes it could be so pretty. Alas I did not take this picture.

And yes, the soul-less kitchen will be as quick to drop out as Pataki.
You probably enjoyed giving other kids a hip bump off when playing musical chairs.
Hillary (#1 seed) has easier bracket to make it to finals - easier opponents.
Bush faces tougher competition and isn't even #1 seed. If he makes it to the finals, it be already an impressive accomplishment
Consumers will love it, MS stock price soar, dibs will make money.
Me, I don't care, will continue to use Linux.

So you agree that there are Republican morons on this issue in addition to the Democrat, O'Malley?
Darwin award for that open window!
Go unfriend someone.
Ha! Didn't Serena once accuse Amelie Mauresmo of being a man?
